SEQTA for a Better World – Ruma Abedona Hospice

SEQTA Software is proud to be a long-running supporter of Ruma Abedona Hospice (R.A.H), an India-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing palliative care and related services to the terminally ill. We invited R.A.H Founder, Santanu Chakraborty, to explain a little about his incredible organisation and work.

“Ruma Abedona Hospice exists to provide quality of life in situations where extending life is not possible. Palliative care is relatively new to India. R.A.H. was the first and is still one of the few Charitable Palliative Care services in West Bengal, a state of 91 million people! Palliative Care is still unheard of in many remote and poverty stricken areas.

R.A.H. provides compassion, comfort, care, freedom from pain and peace in death to patients in their own homes. R.A.H. also supports widows, orphans and patient’s families trapped in the poverty cycle.

SEQTA’s generous commitment to R.A.H. enables the workers to also do Health Education Camps in Villages, and especially Cancer and Palliative Care Education. R.A.H. also assists with educating the children who have lost the breadwinner in their family, so that they can support their own family. The care of the whole family affected by terminal illness is an important part of the work of R.A.H.
