SEQTA’s inaugural primary-focussed training programme, Primarily Speaking, wrapped up in early September, capping off an exciting seven-workshop series which drew 180 participants to sessions in Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Bunbury.

Hosted by former Primary School Assistant Principal and current SEQTA Primary specialist, Peter Hazebroek, Primarily Speaking zeroed in on important primary-related topics including calendar use in a primary setting; and achieving real value using SEQTA assessments and SEQTA creator.

The full-day workshops garnered widespread praise from participants, with many indicating they found the sessions to be highly valuable and immediately useful.

Torrens Valley eLearning Co-ordinator, Fiona Clayton, said Primarily Speaking opened her eyes to ways that SEQTA can help her provide further value to her school.

“I can honestly say I am so excited about the possibilities SEQTA holds for our Primary staff. I was blown away with the things you showed us, most of which I can incorporate into my senior classes as well.”

“I was super inspired by the talk from one of the teachers at the VIT and I plan to create a SEQTA Superhero’s Team and a SEQTA Superhero’s in Training team next year.”

While dates for future Primarily Speaking sessions are yet to be set, teachers are invited to contact to register their interest.
