SEQTA has reached another milestone in its storied journey, celebrating the anniversary of its 10th year in the market after being officially registered as a business on 9 August 2006.
Originally conceived as a means of countering the increasing administrative workloads being placed on teachers, cofounders Grant and Sharon Grosser have proudly overseen SEQTA’s transformation from a kitchen table start-up to a successful international software-as-a-service company.
With invaluable early support from angel investor and now Executive Chairman John Vickers, Grant and Sharon were successful in sourcing the financial and advisory investment needed to create and market-test an early version of the product.
Young guns George Hewitt, Barry van Oudtshoorn, and Lance Duivenbode helped steer SEQTA through system failures and a rocky start, working around the clock to provide pioneering schools Esperance Anglican Community School, Carey Baptist College and Mater Dei College with working beta versions of the software.
Today, SEQTA provides more than 455 schools with products that enable teachers to carry out all their daily tasks, while simultaneously providing students, parents and school administrators with instant online access to everything they need to effectively play their role in the school’s learning community.
Reflecting on SEQTA’s journey over the past 10 years, Grant says “We are proud to provide not only the world’s best software and support to over 30,000 teachers and 245,000 students, but also fulfilling jobs to our talented, diverse, hardworking staff of more than 70 outstanding individuals.
“This extraordinary team is the key to the company’s success to date – we are so fortunate to have such quality people invest so much of themselves into the SEQTA vision.”
SEQTA Software, (a division of Saron Education Limited, a public unlisted company) is a business involved in providing the SEQTA Suite to the K to 12 Education market in Australia as well as internationally.
The SEQTA Suite is an all-in-one, collaborative teaching and learning ecosystem that enables teachers to manage all their administrative tasks in one place, while simultaneously engaging students and parents in an interactive, supportive community. The SEQTA Suite was designed around the natural work-flow of teachers, allowing them to create virtual learning environments; realistically eliminating the need for paper for everything from attendance, behaviour management, teaching and learning programmes, marks books and reporting to parents.
